Exhibition: Toulouse-Lautrec
8 panel exhibit
The French painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was born in Albi in 1864. A free-thinking eccentric, he used his work to explore Parisian nightlife, bars, cabarets, the circus, shows and brothels.
His expressive drawings are tender and unsparing, almost to the point of caricature.
Toulouse-Lautrec was a precursor of the Fauve and Expressionist movements.
